The Back Creek, one of southern Maryland’s scenic waterways along which the Inn is nestled, merges with the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay. Sailing and motorized boating guests may dock at one of the two slips available at the Inn’s dock.
Once a simple Queen Anne style waterman’s home, built in 1880, this home has become the Back Creek Inn Bed & Breakfast, since 1987. The original house has four private bedrooms and a new building enlarges the accommodations to two suites and a separate cottage. Flowers, fruit, herbs and vegetables can be found in the Inn’s gardens. Pairs of Adirondack chairs grace the lawn, with views of Back Creek and the Patuxent River. These surrounding views of the gardens and water become captured in paintings by the home’s owner and artist, Carol Pennock. A two block stroll to the Solomons Island’s Riverwalk offer you a breathtaking sunset or ice cream cone, fine dining, too.
